Are you trying to brush your teeth with both hands tied behind your back?
Make sure you’re not doing these 5 things that could be making it harder on yourself.
1. Too Much Too Soon
Lets be honest, you tore the arse (strange word) out of it over Christmas. You ate and drank everything around you.
You can’t expect to go from that to a “Perfect Diet” straight away, that is destined for failure/rebounding.
Pick one thing (e.g brekafast) and fix it for a week, then add one other thing while maintaining that.
Small steps ALWAYS win.
2. You Took A Diet Off The Shelf
Don’t box yourself into one thing.
Low Carb
Weight Watchers
Slimming World
Herba Life
Paleo
And a million other “diets”
There is no one size fits all. Sure there are things that work well for the majority and SOME things that work well for
everyone, but you need to figure out 3 things:
-A plan that you can be consistent with and stick to
-A plan you can afford and enjoy
-A plan that you make progress on(obviously) & that you could stick to forever.
3. Your Eating and Exercise Don’t Match
If you think you can live on 1,000 calories and train 5 times a week you are mistaken.
Similarly you can’t survive on low carb if your training is in any way intense.
Make sure your exercise habits and eating habits match up. If you don’t give your body enough fuel you’ll crash &
burn.
4. You’ve Gone Overboard With Supplements
Throw protein bars in here too. Don’t get me wrong they have their place, but they are meant to SUPPLEMENT your
nutrition………the key is in the name 😉
Don’t go spending a fortune on shakes/bars until you have the basics nailed down.
5. Your Public and Private Life Don’t Match
It’s all good posting cool photos on Facebook/Instagram for everyone to see, but when the camera is away if you’re
stuffing your face full of biscuits you may be in trouble.
How do you avoid this? You need to find a goal that means something to you. If you just say “I want to lose some
weight” you’ll never stick to it.
Be specific and set a deadline.
That’s it folks, if you’re doing these then make changes asap. Pick 1 small change and stick to it for 1-2 weeks, then
add something else.
